One of V.Group’s top priorities during this current crisis is ensuring we can continue to pay our seafarers who are currently seeing restrictions or limitations on accessing their salaries due to restrictions on banks and financial institutions at home.
In line with this, V.Group is partnering with a provider of digital ‘eWallets’ ShipMoney, allowing us to facilitate payments directly to seafarers via a cloud finance approach. This platform is entirely sanctions-compliant while ensuring seafarers’ salaries are available to them in real-time, anywhere in the world, via their internet-connected devices, and without being impeded by banking restrictions in their home countries.
This service has been successfully piloted over the last few months on other V.Group vessels and is now been extended to Russian and Ukrainian seafarers on majority of our fleet.
